The Day I Met JT & Sara: A Heartwarming Engagement Shoot

The first time I met JT and Sara, it was over a zoom consultation. I still remember the excitement that bubbled up inside me as I opened the virtual meeting room. When our faces finally appeared on the screen, there was an instant connection. Their eyes sparkled with love and anticipation, which I knew would translate beautifully into their engagement photos. And indeed, if you glance at the photographs we took together, you'll see the undeniable chemistry between them.

As we began planning for the engagement shoot, we exchanged numerous ideas about the perfect location. The discussion was as exciting as it was challenging, as we all wanted a place that would enhance the visual narrative of their love story. Finally, after much deliberation, we landed on V.Sattui Winery in Saint Helena, California. As wine lovers, we all appreciated the romantic allure of a vineyard, and agreed that the winery, with its stunning landscapes and rustic charm, would be an ideal setting.

To avoid the throng of visitors typically found at the winery, we decided to meet there one hour before closing time. It was a calculated risk that thankfully paid off. Although there was an event ongoing, it didn't hamper our shoot. The property was expansive enough for us to maneuver around, and the plethora of colorful backdrops added a vibrant touch to the photographs.

I always like to start with 'easy shots' to help the couple loosen up. These are simple, candid shots where all they have to do is walk and talk. It’s a technique I’ve honed over the years to help people feel comfortable in front of the camera. As JT and Sara strolled through the vineyard, their nervousness gradually melted away, replaced by genuine smiles and laughter. From there, all I had to do was feel the vibes, turn up the music on my Bluetooth speaker, and let my camera capture their love story unfold against the backdrop of the setting sun.

Looking back, I am filled with gratitude for having had the opportunity to work with JT and Sara. Their love story was a joy to capture, and their engagement shoot remains a cherished memory. It was a day filled with laughter, love, and of course, a glass or two of fine wine.
